How many weeks of camp do you offer?

We offer 8 weeks of camp with 8 exciting themes! This summer’s dates and themes are: 


Week 1, July 5 to 9: Adventure Island

Week 2, July 12 to 16: Wild West

Week 3, July 19 to 23: National Park

Week 4, July 26 to 30: Passport to the World

**Week 5, August 3 to 6: Time Traveler

Week 6, August 9 to 13: Discovery Dig

Week. 7, August 16 to 20: The Olympics

Week 8, August 23 to 27: Jr. High Camp grade 6,7 and, 8 


**Please note, Week 5 will be a short week. Due to Terry Fox Day, My Kids Day Camp will not be open on August 3. Registration costs reflect the shortened week**

Who is camp for?

My Kids Day Camp is for children ages 5-12 (entering kindergarten to exiting grade 6).


The Jr. High camp is for students entering grade 6 to students entering grade 9 as of September 2021. 

Can I register for more than one week?

Yes, you can! Many of our campers register for multiple weeks, so we strive to make each week as exciting and different as possible. We have a maximum of 30 camper per week, a waitlist will be opened once that week is full.

Is there a half day option?

No, due to the restrictions laid out by the Government of Manitoba with respect to Covid-19, we will not be offering half day as an option for camp this year.

Costs

Full Day Camp

Registration: $215.00


Register by March 30th for 20% off


Register by May 30th for 15% off


**For the short week (August 3rd to 6th) the cost is - $172

Do you offer subsidies?

Yes. To make My Kids Day Camp accessible to all families, My Church Winnipeg provides limited subsidies to help offset the cost of camp for families in need of financial assistance. If you are interested in applying for a subsidy, please contact the church office at 204-489-9000 or email daycamp@mychurchwinnipeg.ca.

The deadline for subsidy applications is May 15, 2021. 

When is the latest I can register?

Registration closes the Wednesday before each week of camp begins. For example, registration for week 2 (July 12th to 16th) closes on July 7. We will have a waitlist for weeks that are full, if you would like to sign up for the waitlist you can do so through our registration.

What does a normal day at camp look like?

Drop-off starts at 8:30 am. Pick-up is at 4:30 pm


Morning

At My Kids Day Camp our morning is packed with fun, faith-based activities. We begin with an opening session where we sing, dance and learn our daily Bible Point. The group will then move through 4 stations (ie. Bible story, craft, gym games and crew time) with a break for snack and to recharge. Each day we will wrap up the morning with a closing session that includes the now famous box game, some friendly competition, songs and much more. 


Afternoon

Each day will look different as campers take part in adventures on the My Church Winnipeg property and surrounding community. Here are just a few of things we have planned for our afternoons: water wars, scavenger hunts, nerf battles, BIG art projects, races, and more.

 

The schedule for each week will be sent out to all day camp families, the week before your camper arrives.


All activities and events at My Kids Day Camp will be run following the current Province of Manitoba COVID-19 Guidelines.

What should I bring to camp?

There are a few things you should bring to camp every day:

·      A mask, this is required for entry into our camp

·      A labeled, peanut-free lunch that does not need to be microwaved

·      A morning and afternoon snack

·      Your My Kids Day Camp t-shirt (this will be given to you on your first day of camp and must be worn every day)

·      Sunscreen and bug repellent

·      A hat 

·      A water bottle

·      A swimsuit, towel, and plastic bag to put them in afterwards


At My Kids Day Camp, we are always moving! For this reason, we also require campers to wear shoes that allow them to run, jump, and move safely, such as runners or sport sandals. 

Do you require your staff to have certain qualifications?

Yes. All our camp staff are trained in First Aid/CPR, have completed a criminal record check, and have taken our Child Abuse Prevention and Protection Training—a course designed to help ensure the safety and security of minors in all My Church Winnipeg programs. 

 

Each staff member will be screened daily as per the Government of Manitoba’s Coronavirus Early Learning and Child Care Practice Guidelines.

A few other notes:

Is there a cancellation fee?

There will be a 90% refund for those who cancel on or before June 15, 2021. There will be no refunds after June 15, 2021.

Is there a fee if I pick my child up late?

Yes. My Kids Day Camp ends at 4:30pm, and we require parents to pick their children up on time. If your child remains in our care after 4:40pm you will be assessed a late fee of $5 per child. This fee will increase by $5 every 10 minutes and must be paid when you arrive to pick up your child.
